The Beginning
A Journey of Passion
My journey with rugby started at the age of 10, when a teammate’s dad began a small rugby league. By my sophomore year of high school in the Bay Area, I was playing for the Penn Green HS club. Despite a setback with mono, my passion for rugby grew stronger. Moving to Texas, I became the MVP of my team and represented Texas at a national tournament, deepening my love for the sport.
The Turning Point
Driven by Brotherhood
Rugby’s camaraderie, unity, and shared experiences were unparalleled. Playing for different teams on the west coast (East Palo Alto Razorbacks, Santa Barbara Rugby Academy, and the Ventura County Outlaws), I met some great people but continued to notice a theme of needing better apparel. Traditional kits were durable but lacked comfort and style, especially shorts which lacked practicality outside of the pitch.

Innovating Rugby Apparel
Vortex Rugby was born from my experiences and a desire to improve rugby wear. We designed shorts that combined comfort, style, and functionality. Our products sold out instantly at the SLO TRI TIP sevens tournament, proving the community's demand for quality rugby apparel. Today, Vortex Rugby blends tradition and innovation, reaching players globally through our Instagram [@vortexrugby] and website [vortexrugby.com], symbolizing the spirit of rugby.
